Course Description

60 Minute Lecture

Precision functional brain diagnose dstics leads to a better understanding of human being. HBImed Database Version 3.0 enables clinicians to uifferent windows to the brain. The semi-automatized HBImed-Reportgenerator makes complexity simple and usable. 

Clinical diagnostics can be compared to puzzles: in a puzzle it is often important to find prominent puzzle pieces and to arrange them correctly. Over time, an overall picture emerges.

In clinical diagnostics, the elements are given on the one hand by the question posed, then in particular by the field of life and its history, but also by cognitive, behavioural and emotional descriptions. In addition to these subjective elements, it is possible to add objective brain data which provide additional insights into the context.  

Recent studies worldwide point to the renaissance of EEG and ERP based examination techniques. About a year ago, the Brain and Trauma Foundation (GTSG) published a scientific paper in a renowned journal, which shows the development and use of evidence-based diagnostics. Since then, the criticism has eased considerably and interest, especially from affected patients and clinicians, has increased significantly. Experience also shows that the skillful use of the various neurobiological approaches as a supplement to conventional diagnostics leads to better and more precise insights into the processes. 

The approach we advocate in HBImed Database version 3.0 is the same as that proposed for the future by the American National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Individual functional areas (e.g. attention, memory, cognitive control) should be better described in order to enable a deeper understanding.

Andreas Mueller, Ph.D

Director of the Research Clinic, Chur, Switzerland, CEO Brain and Trauma Foundation, Switzerland, President of the board of directors of HBImed AG, founder of BrainARC Clinics in Zürich and Chur. Dr. Muller has been in clinical practice for over 35 years. He has published a book on ADHD and several book chapters and articles regarding EEG/ERP correlates to ADHD and other mental disorders. He did the primary data collection for the HBImed databases for qEEG and ERP analyses. He has spoken internationally regarding his research and his approach to qEEG/ERP analysis and interpretation.

In order to receive the live CE credit(s), you must attend the entire program, and complete the Program Assessment and  Participant Satisfaction/Evaluation form. A participant may arrive no more than 10 minutes late and/or leave more than 10 minutes early to receive live credit for a program.

 For Home Study Attendees:

To receive home study credit(s), you must view the entire program, complete the program assessment and complete the Participant Satisfaction/Evaluation form at the conclusion of the program. You must also complete test questions and obtain a score of 70% or higher. Partial credit will not be given for any individual session.
